Knife

I stole these from Allison.

It's always nice when you get to go to campus for other reasons than class....like going to see the Carl Bloch exhibit and watching your amazing pianist friend compete. Pica-chu you are one talented girl.

Sprawl II

My sister is in town! It has been so fun having her visit me in Provo again and see all my good friends.

And speaking of Provo awesomeness...........some beautiful places are photographed in a Fall sweater feature on Urban Outfitters. Its fun recognizing the different places that are in the feature, including my friends bedroom.

Take a gander.

Photographed by Natalie Neal and modeled by Rachel Stallings

Thanks to Kaneischa for showing me this!

Hands

Lately I seem to be taking in the last bit of summer by enjoying the green grass. Fall is just around the corner but for now I'll hold on to the warmth of summer as long as I can.

Oh and thanks Allison for writing this lovely message on my window yesterday. Luckily Kaneischa informed me we will be getting new windows this week : )

Oh and P.S. thats not dirt, the girl that lived in the room before me decided to frost the windows for....... my guess is, privacy?
Anyways I will be glad when it is gone.

On Melancholy Hill

Summer has gotten the best of me. So much, that I have forgotten to blog.

Don't worry though lil blog, I've been having lots of fun : )

Like going to the hospital cafeteria....or making late night runs to Del Taco.....oh and listening to awesome friends play music in my living room.

Pearl got a cute little elephant from the quarter machine at Del Taco.
And then she ripped his eyes off. Poor Elephant.

Some of my recent musical treats have been Norther, Cody Rigby, Emily Brown, Scott Shepard of Book on Tape Worm, Mark of Parlor Hawk, and the amazing Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees.

I feel like a lucky girl for getting into such a good house show. My own personal house show with only close friends.

In The Morning

The other day I woke up to a rainbow. In my room.

I kind of loved it.

Hasn't happened since.

Electric Twist

Today I saw Jeffrey for a total of ten minutes. He gloated about how he had a picnic earlier in the day. I was jealous. Can't wait till I have time to do that when finals is over!
Today was a good day nonetheless, I had some yum Mexican food at Mi Ranchito's with Allison, Brandon, Robert, and Tom.

I love lunches with friends. End of story. I'm going to be so sad when bunches of them leave for the summer this next week.

Death of a Salesman

My friends have skills. Skills like music and photography, and the angst to change the world.

Meet Book on Tape Worm. Which includes my very talented friend Scott.

Book on Tape Worm from Kristina Baker on Vimeo.

I think I will remember these times the most when I leave Provo eventually. The times we all sat around and talked till late at night, some people playing guitars and others just observing.

"Animal"

Around this time of the semester I yearn for a little break from school. I know its only a month into the semester, but since I didn't go home for the holidays I am DESPERATE to see some lovely sunny and warm weather. Can't wait to be in lovely Oceanside, CA for my Dad's wedding.

And Although I will dearly miss these individuals while I am gone....

I mostly sad that I will probably miss Briye guy having her baby! Can't wait to meet you baby Rilo!

Take care of her Atom!
P.S. I have become addicted to Gossip Girl, I don't know how this happened!

POST EDIT: I finally found my other camera so I can actually post some pictures in the future that aren't gross and grainy. Sorry for the lack of quality!

The Way We Move

Maybe this year I will post more. Just maybe.

As for my recent activities, I had a wonderful Christmas vacation that was anything but lonely.
I flew my sister into town with a flight reward I got from Southwest and got to spend some quality time with her and my friends here in Utah. I feel so blessed to know such wonderful people and loved playing Clue and Rock Band at the Webbs' casa!
And eating amazing Mexican food!!!! Although I'm sure my sister was a little disappointed at the fact she never got to have her favorite Mexican drink Champurrado (I linked it in case you don't know what it is)

And now I might just get a Snuggie! Hey...... they look really warm and comfortable!

Post edit: Maybe I should carry around a better camera, these Iphone pictures are horrible! But whatever : )

Here Comes Santa Claus

So this weekend has been all sorts of fun and crazy combined. Saturday I flew to California to meet some new family that I haven't met yet (my Dad is getting married in February). I was supposed to fly out in the morning but had to settle for an early afternoon flight after sleeping through both of my alarms. Something I seem to be known for these days.....

Well after I quickly got my things together and hit the road for the airport, me and my roommate Allison were able to see the hilarious 1st Annual Provo Santa Run while driving down Center Street. It was amazing. I think this video captures it, too bad I didn't have a zoom so you can see there outfits better!

And in case you can't see it, Everyone was required to dress up as Santa Claus. (pregnant women, old men, young children, etc. were seen)

Junebug

Okay, so lately my apartment has felt like an urgent care center. Allison got deathly sick, and then Caroline caught it, and the whole time I was just waiting for when I would get it. I never did, but who knows I just might get it now that I have jinxed myself. Not to say I haven't had my fair share of mishaps lately.

Yesterday I woke up and my left eye had a piercing pain and I felt like I was going blind! My eye kept watering and wouldn't stop, I was so irritated! I decided to go to class anyways and I basically balled the whole morning. On top of that I had to work later in the evening. So I left for home after two classes hoping that maybe some more sleep would help. It didn't : ( I even was crying at work! I felt like such a weirdo. This morning I woke up and the pain was still there. After some encouragement from my professor I went to the health center. Little did I know, that I would be surrounded by people in masks. I felt like I was in the midst of the swine flu, and well I probably was. I took my antibiotic medicine (my eye is infected, eww, but at least its not pink eye Briye!) and high tailed it out of there.

Anyways the moral of the story is don't get sick. Cuz you will have to look scary and wear a face mask. I just really wanted to tell you guys that, even though I'm sure you regret reading this whole post just for that!

Back to the Start

I have neglected you my little blog. I have been quite busy since school started and I feel like I don't even get to see my dear friends as much : ( I really do miss you (both of you)

And since I have hardly had time to do anything adventurous, I am just going to post music that I have been listening to lately. I don't know if the fact that I work at a place that plays constant remixed music has had an effect on what I listen to, well who am I kidding all I listen to is electronic music right now. With of course the exception of a few pop and folk songs....

Every week I wake up Allison in the morning by playing Miley Cyrus's song "Party in the USA". She loves it, no really I think she does. Even despite her constant groans and cursings towards me when I do. One day I may even get her to love Taylor Swift, although she seems to resist to this notion as well. I promise you, it will happen.

But for now, here are a few songs I love.

Blood and Peanut Butter

Recently I went with my roomie Caroline to give blood for a church activity. I haven't given blood in forever so I was a little freaked out but in the end everything went well for me. Caroline on the other hand, had some issues.

When she was getting the needle put in the blood techy guy (I forget their official name) accidentally got blood on her. It was gross to say the least, but Caroline was such a trooper about it!

Life Is Beautiful

This morning was wonderful, despite the weather being a little bipolar lately. The sun stayed out just long enough for me to run to the Provo Farmer's Market and go to the bank.

I was even able to ride my bike! Which I seriously have not done in forever. Probably because I got the Stang back and have been wanting to drive it every time I have something I need to do.

I even enjoyed some of the entertainment while I was chomping down on some yummy tamales. (by the way thanks for getting me addicted Fitz!) I just love Saturdays in Provo.

Thanks Boots to the Moon, and thank you tamales for being in my life.

Cry Me a River

Dan Smock googled his name the other day and somehow my little blog came up in the results. I guess it's mostly because with a name like Dan Smock I feel like you can't just call the kid "Dan"when you are talking about him. I mean seriously.

When a late night hangout turns into dinner, apron wearing, and other various events.....a kid like that deserves to be called by his full name.
Maybe we even made a music video to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" the next night ... go to Facebook if you haven't seen it yet.

I love my friends! Thank you Allison and Dan for being so fun.

Existentialism on Prom Night

So I never posted about my trip home, but I promise to do so as soon as I upload some pics!

In the meantime, I will tell you about how awesome my roommates are. A few nights ago we decided to watch Prom Night as a roomie bonding thing (at least that's what it turned out to be), we invited a bunch of people but I guess they just couldn't handle the idea of a scary flick. I mostly just say that because it only ended up being me, Allison, and Caroline that watched the movie. It was hilarious, and surprisingly scary in some parts.

We also got to take some awesome pictures before we decided to watch the movie. Can you tell we get bored sometimes?

Just in case you were wondering..............we also watched She's All That tonight. I had forgotten about all the disgusting things in that movie, hopefully I forget the cafeteria scene soon......eww.

Showbiz

It's official! I moved into my new casa this week. I miss my roommates but I just love not living in a big complex right now. I feel pretty spoiled I'm not going to lie. Briye and Adam's place is awesome!!! I promise to take care of it Briye : )

Tonight I'm going to go with the girls to the local Beehive Bazaar. I'm excited because my good friend Katie B will be selling some of her jewelry. I saw some of it last night and I fell in love with her new stuff. Especially one of her necklaces, hopefully I get there early enough to get it before anyone else does! If you are bored and are in Provo be sure to stop by, it is going on all this weekend and tonight there is music and treats! Yay.

Hot Revolver

So this post is kind of random but.....there seems to be a lot of movies that I have never seen. Like right now, I'm watching Donnie Darko for the first time. And I must say that I am enjoying it. So naturally I would like to know more movies that I should/need to watch. Please offer some advice : )
ooooo and p.s. Briye has been making me this awesome background and banner for my blog. (cuz mine is rediculously ugly right now)It looks ten times better than what I have right now and she has proved once again that she is amazing! And she is graduating from BYU in a week and a half. Congrats love!
(BTW we were extremely excited to go to the 'So You Think You Can Dance' performance tour in this picture. Sooo fun!)
