"Art, I want you"

Umm I left my heart in Portland this time. What fun that trip was. I don't think I have ever actually spent Valentine's Day in Utah, at least I know for the last three years I have flown out to some where else. Ha. I like it.

So Valentine's Day was awesome. I was sick. Upside: I got to crash a stake couple's dance with my best friend and her husband! They had chocolate fountains, an awesome high school band, and even cheesier photos from peoples weddings in a slide show (mostly circa 1980s). Before the dance I had a lovely dinner with Georgia's friends in the above picture. Isn't it awesome meeting your besties other friends? They were all way cool and I especially enjoyed the couple game we played, because Georgia's husband wasn't there and we were each others spouse.

The next day we went to 23rd street and looked at some of the cute shops there and went to my favorite store....urban outfitters! I wanted to find a new quilt for my bed but walked out empty handed.

On Monday I got my hair trimmed by the lovely Crystal at the Symmetry Salon in the Pearl District of Portland. The night then ended with an abundance of food by going to Oba! and then sushi a hour later.

I always bring all the seasons of Sex and the City with me so before we went to bed we squeezed in a few more episodes because Georgia hasn't seen them all. I just love that show....and I don't care if you disagree!

Well what another great Portland visit, I miss it so much already!

I figure I might as well post the video I was looking at when I saw the lame Sugar Daddie ad. At least I can rely on Postsecret to be a little more deep.

PostSecret: A Valentine Video

I just love the weekly secrets at postsecret.com , So much that I'm inspired to do something on the BYU campus for a project in one of my classes. We shall see how it turns out....

Rocket to the Heart

I know this month is all about love or at least spreading the love to those who need it....but how can I take Valentine's Day seriously when there are banner ads for companies called 'SugarDaddie.com' "Dating for the rich and gorgeous". Ya, I think i'll pass.

Music is My Boyfriend

I think it is fair to say that music is a big part of my life, and I don't mean playing an instrument either. I enjoy the art of listening to music. In the past I have occasionally emailed friends songs they might like or ask for. I think I'm going to instead start making a habit of posting a weekly song or something. We shall see.... For now I give you Castledoor.....it is a band. I couldn't decide on just one song so I put a few on the playlist. Enjoy : )

She's Like the Wind

Okay, I know that the Sundance film festival was actually a few weeks ago. But I promise I only uploaded the few pictures I have from the event just now.So now for the exciting things. I got to see 500 Days of Summer! Ya- the one I was obsessing about just a few posts ago. The one that is going to blow everyone's minds when it comes out in theatres this summer. Thanks Briye for being there with me!...no really, you saved me from absolute awkwardness torture several times. Boys are weird slash crazy sometimes.

Anyways the movie was nothing like I thought it was going to be, it's different and refreshing. The music placement is awesome and quirky, and some of my favorite songs were played. Bonus to being there: Joseph Gordon-Levitt was there! He even did a Q and A about the film afterwards. It truly made the experience special to me. I think the most amusing part was when he proceeded to run across the stage while filming the crowd waving to him. The boy had energy that's for sure.

I know this is a horrible picture, but this is good ol' Joe
PS. Did I not already say you should see it?
PPS. Do you think it is weird when guys try and chew on your hair? It kinda weirds me out, speaking from attempted experience. (as in I told him to stop)

Dumbster Diving

Today I was lucky enough to pick up one of rockstar diaries headbands. I missed out when she listed some earlier this week and I'm just so excited to get mine! I walked away with her Pocahontas design. Go look at her shop and blog sometime. She is definitely one of my faves.
P.S. I will be posting on my Sundance film festival experience soon! And oh was it an experience...

I just booked a way cheap flight to go see my best friend in Portland on Valentine's Day weekend! Thank you Southwest for the wonderful discounts you give!
