I Was Young When I Left Home

We got back from our AMAZING trip to California this week! We went to San Fran, we went to Redding, we saw a bunch : ) I'm in the process of uploading all the pictures we took right now. It's gonna be awhile kids.

During our trip to Redding I was able to find some things I have been wanting to take back to Provo with me. Digging through a bunch of random items we have in storage at our house, I found a Polaroid camera! And it works. I was elated to say the least. It made the night even better when my sister found my mom's old Minolta camera. I'm excited to play around with it and today I just finished my first roll. I'll post them if they actually turn out. But for now, you get a couple of good ol' photo booth pictures of me displaying my new pride and joy.

Give A Little Love

My friend Bri (the designer of my blog header and background) is having a giveaway on her blog! In honor of her opening up a Etsy page to sell custom blog headers and etsy banners, she is having a giveaway. Comment on her post here by Saturday for a chance to win a custom blog header! I have seen some of the other owns she has been designing lately and there isn't one that I don't like. Go look at her post to see more of her stuff. And don't forget to visit her store Jacq and Mal if you are in desperate need of some change.
I also realize not everyone knows what Etsy is. Whenever you get a chance go to Etsy.com and you can checkout the wonderful handmade crafts and vintage items for sale on its website. Think of it kind of as an online crafts fair with crafts ten times cooler than you ever imagined. Just go see for yourself. I have bought a few things off of it and have always been happy with what I've received. Enjoy.

Space Dementia

Ikea is a magical place. A place where two friends can spend an empty day dreaming about owning fabulous kitchens and furniture. And of course buying sheets, as we managed to do.I want something to decorate pronto.

Feeling Good

Soooo I guess my trip home was so wonderful that I felt I needed to take another trip asap. This lovely memorial weekend will be spent driving to good ol' San Fran and Redding once again. This time I will have some wonderful friend baggage coming along for the ride. Allison hasn't ever been to San Fran so I'm excited to take her to art museums and other fun things! I also really can't wait to see the fam again!

And since I never showed pictures from my last trip to Redding, here they are!

My friend Kel(a boy) turned 22 so he had a BBQ to celebrate, it was so good seeing a bunch of my friends that are home for the summer there.
I took a drive to Jacksonville, OR just for kicks with my Dad. We used to go visit the historic town when I was a kid and it was so nice to see the green pastures of Oregon again.

And because my Dad knows I love French toast so much, we stopped at a cute place in Yreka on the way.
Jacksonville is a historic town created from the gold rush but was also once used in a 1970s Western film called "The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid"
My Dad knew all about it, I had never heard of such a film. I'm ALMOST tempted to watch it, we will see about that...

After touring the Jacksonville museum we headed home and went on high speed Go Karts!
I was lame and got motion sickness because of how fast they go (I know I'm a wuss), which easily made me last place because I was up against my speedy gonzalez sister Air Bear.

I don't care what people say, northern California is just as fun as southern California and I love my hometown : )

Cry Me a River

Dan Smock googled his name the other day and somehow my little blog came up in the results. I guess it's mostly because with a name like Dan Smock I feel like you can't just call the kid "Dan"when you are talking about him. I mean seriously.

When a late night hangout turns into dinner, apron wearing, and other various events.....a kid like that deserves to be called by his full name.
Maybe we even made a music video to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" the next night ... go to Facebook if you haven't seen it yet.

I love my friends! Thank you Allison and Dan for being so fun.

Let You Be Loved

Mother's are some of the most amazing women in the world.

I'm thankful that we have a day to honor their great lives and I'm thankful that I have so many memories of my Mom that still remain with me. I hope I never forget what a strong, independent, and intelligent woman she was. I miss you Mom!

Existentialism on Prom Night

So I never posted about my trip home, but I promise to do so as soon as I upload some pics!

In the meantime, I will tell you about how awesome my roommates are. A few nights ago we decided to watch Prom Night as a roomie bonding thing (at least that's what it turned out to be), we invited a bunch of people but I guess they just couldn't handle the idea of a scary flick. I mostly just say that because it only ended up being me, Allison, and Caroline that watched the movie. It was hilarious, and surprisingly scary in some parts.

We also got to take some awesome pictures before we decided to watch the movie. Can you tell we get bored sometimes?

Just in case you were wondering..............we also watched She's All That tonight. I had forgotten about all the disgusting things in that movie, hopefully I forget the cafeteria scene soon......eww.
